First and foremost I would just like to say I wish there was a dog cafe. Can that be a thing? Should I try to make it a thing? ? ?
Kit Tea is a cat lounge located in Hayes Valley where you essentially reserve a time slot and get an hour with the cats. The asking price is $20 + additional for treats and tea. It's a bit steep but what makes up for it is that you can adopt the cats and they help out cat shelters! It's the small things that make you feel less sad about paying $50 for you and your friend to go. /hearts/
It may be a huge thing in Japan but here in San Francisco the concept of a cat cafe is something that causes confusion and questioning among the masses. One person asked if it's a place where you have to bring your own cat. Oh silly person, no it's a place where you drink tea and chill with hoards and hoards of cats
....What also got me was the music selection being played if you go on Pandora and type in Indie Pop that's essentially the type of music you will hear, and honestly drinking tea, sitting with cats, and listening to The XX makes you really value life.
The atmosphere was super nice probably because cats make everyone super calm...and slightly bitch faced.
The people who worked there were also super friendly and chill which made it a great atmosphere.
It also serves super cute teas and treats! It doubles as a regular cafe so there is a place where you can order coffee And other goods to go or you can sit and do homework (it has wifi)
I would definitely suggest trying their teas! They were 3 bucks and came steaming hot!
